The Giving's 1st Youth Education Initiative
On July 3rd, 2023, The Giving hosted its 1st youth education program and 3rd hygiene kit assembly with the Buddhist Youth Camp (BYC) at the American Bodhi Center! 60 campers and 40 adult staff helped create 200 care packages and 250 uplifting cards for Houston’s homeless. During this event, our youth learned the importance of civil duty and how simple it can be to create a resource for those in need. We always encourage our youth to find their passions and give back to the community.
Our founder, Catherine Van, lead the program by explaining why we are creating the hygiene kits, show the importance of each item in the bag, and give instructions to counselors and campers.
The teams are hard at work, racing to finish!
After completing the hygiene kits in record time, campers come together to make colorful and uplifing cards. Look at all the little hands!
