The Giving's Summer 2023 Distribution Series: June Part Two!
On Monday, June 19th, 2023, from 6:30 PM to 9 PM, The Giving takes on its second module to the Summer Distribution Series of 2023 with our Founder, Catherine Van; new ambassador, Saadika Salauddin; and volunteer, Kathy Tran. Our 2nd June trio: Catherine, Saadika, and Kathy, worked alongside F.R.E.S.H. Project Houston, Keep Moving Ministries, and Team Jesus Houston to serve food generously donated by Tarka Indian Kitchen, a custom for the 3rd Monday of every month. The Giving provided water- as it was 104 degrees outside- and dessert (pudding cups/chocolate peanut butter bars) as dinner supplementals.
After serving dinner to those waiting patiently in line, Catherine, Saadika, and Kathy distribute 50 care packages to our friends on Prairie Street.
Our new Ambassador, Saddika Salauddin, volunteered an additional hour to help make cards to add to the care packages. Here's Saddika in action!
8:30 PM- Catherine Van and Kathy Tran drive down to the Bagby Street tunnel, lit red for Juneteenth, to hand out 50 remaining care packages.
Kathy Tran expresses great gratitude and fulfillment from her first volunteer event with The Giving: "Today was such an amazing experience; I loved every second of it. It truly motivated me to become the best version of myself."
