Kickoff to The Giving's Summer 2023 Distribution Series!
On Monday, June 12th, 2023 from 8 PM-12 AM, our founder, Catherine Van; future ambassador, Lea Rincon; and Historian, Kellen Wilson headed downtown to distribute 100 care packages, 90 granola bars, and 80 bottles of water to our homeless community on 1212 Prairie Street. The night starts with F.R.E.S.H. Project Houston giving out donated clothes, continues with Keep Moving Ministries leading worship and praise, peaks when Gals Who Give- Harris County prepare dinner plates, and closes with distributions by The Giving's June trio: Catherine, Lea, and Kellen!
Tonight, Gals Who Give- Harris County sponsored the Monday night serving of spaghetti, garlic bread, and a cookie! Kellen, Catherine, and Lea put on their gloves and prepared away!
Our next stop was a few blocks down to the Bagby Street tunnel where we distributed 30 remaining care packages, and granola bars/water.
Kellen Wilson:
After months of anticipation, Kellen finally had the opportunity to participate in a care package distribution downtown! We appreciate young individuals like Kellen who take the initiative to help our community at any chance. To the left, Kellen is smiling with one of 750 Cliff Protein Bars donated by Pan Can PurpleStride Houston.
Lea Rincon:
Lea consistently supports fundraiser bake sales hosted by Bites by Catherine, a creative designer in care package notecards, and now an avid outreach volunteer! Throughout her experience on this night, she has expressed endeavors to become an ambassador for The Giving. We will see her caring smile on the executive board soon!
A very special thank you to Queen from F.R.E.S.H. project Houston for being our guiding mother non-profit from day one. F.R.E.S.H. has provided The Giving locations for the majority of our events and continues to support us in all our projects.
